Where do they migrate from?
What parts of the world do they pass through?
Introduction:
There are many different bodies of water that exist. These options are oceans, seas, rivers, among other possibilities. All of these bodies of water connect with each other around the world. They are huge and can extend for hundreds of miles. Whales use these oceans and seas to travel around the world. I wonder what parts of the world whales travel too, or the names of all these places?

Tasks:
After the teacher explains the different oceans, and their location on a world map. The students will be given a handout depicting a world map. The migration routes will be given. Students will have to fill in the names of the oceans, and the distances of the routes.
Students will have be creating a Wordcloud of a whale or of the planet. The words will consist of ocean names, marine life (types of whales), and other vocabulary words covered during the lesson. Such words being migration, habitat, equator etc.

Process:
1. Ask students: What parts of the ocean do whales live in?, Where do they migrate from?, What parts of the world do they pass through?
2. Show students what a world map looks like.
3. Briefly describe the places that you will cover. ( Such as oceans, seas, continents, and countries).
4. Give students a blank handout of a world map.
5. Explain to the students that will be filling in their world map with information.
6. List the things that you will be looking for in the map.( Oceans, seas, continents, countries, and the routes that whales travel through as well as the distances).
7. Show the students the website where they can find the information. Use a SmartBoard is available.
8. Allow the students to look at website, and give then enough time to gather their information.
9. The students will fill out their world map, once they have gathered enough information.
10. Go over the map with the students in order to insure that they have the correct information.
11. Introduce students to WordCloud.
12. Show students how to navigate and use WordCloud.
13. After students understand how to use the site, give them instructions on what they will be doing. ( They will gather the words that they have on their world map, plus any other words that have been covered in past lessons, and put them all into a wordcloud representing a figure related to the topic. They will have a total of 20 different words).
14. After students are done with the word cloud, they will submit their work in for grading.

Evaluation:
Grading on the worksheet will be done on accuracy of distances, and naming of the oceans. Grading for the Wordcloud will be graded based on spelling. Both assignments will be graded using a 1-10 scale.
