Introduction:
We all have a place where we go after school. That place is called home. Everyone has a place they call a home, and those places are located everywhere. The same thing goes for eating. Everyone eats different types of food. Have you ever wondered what might live in the ocean? Do you know what an ocean is? What a whale is? or Where this animal of the sea might live, and how they live? All these questions will be explored in this page.
Tasks:
Students will create a foldable that describes a whale's habitat. Students will gather information from this site. They will also include five other descriptions of other marine animals. After completing the foldables students will create a multimedia poster using Glogster. The multimedia poster will include information about a whales habitat, as well as pictures and a video representing the information.

Process:
1.Ask students:Where do whales live?, What else lives in the ocean?, What do whales eat?,What causes whales to migrate?
2. Describe to students what a habitat is..
3. Talk about what kind of habitats exist. Include the habitat that a student lives in (house, school, etc.)
4. Discuss a whales habitat. Include the size of the ocean, what other life is in the ocean, and different bodies of water.
5.Enter into the website that is given to the students. Navigate through the website with the students in order to give a basic understanding of how it is setup.
6.Give students time to explore the website, and time for them to take notes from it.
7. Explain the foldable activity to the students. Showing an example of what the end product looks like, may help them.
8. Give students enough time to be creative with their foldables. Assist them if they need help, or any clarifications.
9.Open the Glogster website, and explore the site along witht the students.
10.You will show the students how to create a multi-media poster on Glogster.
11.Tell the students what information you will be looking for on their posters.
12.You can let students use their Foldables for information.

Evaluation:
Grading will be done by how well the marine life is explained, on the creativity of their foldable, and digital flyer.
The grading will be based off a 1-10 scale.

Organisms and environments. The student knows that living organisms have basic needs that must be met for them to survive within their environment. The student is expected to:
(A) identify the basic needs of plants and animals;
(B) identify factors in the environment, including temperature and precipitation, that affect growth and behavior such as migration, hibernation, and dormancy of living things; and
(C) Compare and give examples of the ways living organisms depend on each other and on their environments such as food chains within a garden, park, beach, lake, and wooded area.
